Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Civil Service Exam ("Service") at https://www.civilserviceexam.org, you agree to these Terms of Service. "We," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

The Service provides educational content about civil service examinations, including study guides and articles. Content is for general information and exam preparation; it is not legal advice. Your official examination announcement and appointing authority remain the authority on eligibility, subjects, and scoring.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful activity, harassment, attempts to disrupt or overload our systems, or scraping in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

4. Intellectual property

Text, graphics, and site design are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or redistribute content for commercial purposes without permission, except as allowed by law.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Pro subscription. Pro is a recurring monthly subscription currently priced at $14.99/month (subject to change as described below). Your payment method is charged automatically each month on your billing date until you cancel. Pro subscriptions are processed and billed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card number.

Automatic renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We do not currently send a separate reminder before each renewal charge.

Cancellation. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from the billing portal available in your account (Profile > Membership and billing). Canceling stops future renewal charges. Depending on how our billing portal is configured, your Pro access may continue through the end of the billing period you already paid for, or end immediately. The billing portal will show you which applies before you confirm cancellation.

Premium guides. Individual study guide bundles ($12.99 at the time of writing, unless a different price is shown at checkout) are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and do not renew. Premium guide checkout is processed by Gumroad, a third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card number.

Refunds. If a Pro subscription or a Premium guide isn't a good fit, contact support@civilserviceexam.org within 7 days of the purchase or charge and we will refund it. Refunds are currently handled by our support team rather than an automated self-service refund button.

Price changes. We may change subscription or guide pricing going forward. A price change will not retroactively apply to a period you already paid for; it will apply starting with your next renewal or a future purchase, and we intend to display the then-current price before you are charged.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that content is error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

CivilServiceExam.org is an independent educational resource. Although we work to review, improve, and update our study guides, practice questions, and articles on an ongoing basis, exam requirements, eligibility standards, dates, fees, scoring rules, and hiring procedures may change without notice. Content on the Service may from time to time contain inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information.

You are responsible for confirming all material information with the official examination announcement, agency portal, civil service commission, or appointing authority before relying on our content. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in a passing score, eligibility for appointment, placement on an eligible list, interview selection, academy admission, or employment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses, missed opportunities, failed examinations, delayed applications, or other outcomes arising from reliance on Service content.

Independent prep resources. CivilServiceExam.org, including our premium study bundles and printable resources, is published by CivilServiceExam.org and is not affiliated with any government agency, civil service commission, or testing authority. Your official examination announcement is always the authority for exact topics, weights, and passing scores. Use our bundles and resources alongside, not in place of, your jurisdiction's official materials.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
